Flashforge has announced the CJ270, a desktop 3D printer that produces full-color parts and uses a new planarizer system to keep layer control consistent throughout a print. The company positions the machine as a step toward making multi-color printing more practical for designers, studios, and small production teams that want finished-looking parts without extensive post-processing.
The CJ270 builds on the company's existing color printing work, combining full-color output with hardware designed to flatten each deposited layer. According to the company, the planarizer mechanism addresses a common problem in filament-based color printing: uneven surfaces and visible layer lines that can dull color and weaken the appearance of a finished part. By controlling each layer mechanically, the printer aims to deliver smoother surfaces and more predictable results across a whole build.
Flashforge says the CJ270 is aimed at users who need color models for client presentations, product prototypes, and educational settings, where appearance matters as much as geometry. The desktop format keeps the machine within reach of smaller workshops rather than industrial print farms.
Pricing and availability details were not disclosed in the announcement. The company said additional information about the CJ270, including specifications and regional launch timing, will be released closer to shipping.
