CHARLES COUNTY, Md. - The Charles County Economic Development Department, alongside county leaders and partners from the Military Alliance Council and the Tri-County Council for Southern Maryland, has officially revealed new signage for the Western Charles County Technology Corridor. This designated zone covers a 7.67-square-mile stretch running from Indian Head to other key points in the region.
The corridor is designed to attract advanced manufacturing, defense contracting, and technology firms. Officials highlighted the area's proximity to the Naval Surface Warfare Center at Indian Head as a major asset. The new signage marks a physical and symbolic step in branding the region as a hub for innovation and job creation.
During the unveiling, leaders emphasized that the corridor will support economic growth by leveraging local military partnerships and infrastructure. They also noted ongoing efforts to improve transportation and utilities within the zone. The project aims to bring high-wage jobs and new investment to Charles County while strengthening ties with federal and state agencies.
