Optimum donates $5K to Lubbock Boys and Girls Clubs for technology updates

A local donation is set to upgrade the digital experience for kids at the Boys and Girls Clubs of Lubbock. On Friday, Optimum handed over a $5,000 grant specifically earmarked for technology improvements at the club's facilities.

The funds will go toward refreshing outdated equipment and expanding access to digital learning tools for the young members. Club leaders say the timing is crucial, as many after-school programs now rely heavily on computers for homework help, coding activities, and college readiness workshops. With the new investment, they plan to replace aging desktops, add more tablets, and possibly upgrade the Wi-Fi infrastructure in the main study areas.
